The sumpsettlers were called "citizen" and the cityrights sanctioned. At this time the city hall was built, but only one floor.

The head waiter Adolf Dähnel buyed the Ratskeller and he set the Rastkeller up to a location of hospitality, where all citizen, without difference of their social standing, felt welcome.
German princes, impertorial generals and german tycoons were also periodical guests of the Ratskeller.

1937 – 1953
After family Dähndel had given up the Ratskeller, the leaseholder chanced very often and this was not very profitable for the prestige of the house.

1969
The water- and energysupplier company bought the Ratskeller. After divers construktion works the Ratskeller get a modern hotel with big gastronomy and gets one of the cultural center.

1976
Leasing of the Ratskeller by Karl König und Helmut Sachweh.

1978
The Ratskeller got back to the ownership of the city Salzgitter.

1980
The first mayor of the city Salzgitter layed the basic modul for the hotelexpansionwing "Garßenhof" with all bonding elements.

1982
Opening festival of the Garßenhof.

2001
On 25th of August the leaser of the Ratskeller could welcome their guests for the first time in the new "Wintergarten" with view to the garden of roses.

2011
Hotel renovation is starting. Complete renovation of rooms, meeting rooms and public areas.
